16th April 2016

So I had a birthday last week and everyone got me Star Wars! Got the Blu-Ray and an awesome Loungefly clutch purse (which goes with my BB-8 bag and Boba Fett coin purse ) and of course my N64. How awesome.
I also headed up to Sydney and purchased way too many things but was fun, if a lot exhausting. Now to spend the rest of the weekend playing Audio Shield and with Genos (what I named the robot dog) in The Labs.

The Vive has arrived and is being set up.
I also got my birthday present early, Limited Edition Nintendo 64 Pod Racer edition! I loved that game and always wanted it (and an N64), but only had a PC copy
I'm really quite hopeless at it, but it's a lot of fun

I've been having fun with this 're-draw' series. Pulling out old artworks I used to be really proud of and re-drawing the main parts of them again to see just how much I've changed (mostly in style and technique). Been a lot of fun, but as a result I have quite the backlog in my Sta.sh
Got some new figures lately too, the list to photograph is getting longer and longer . Got an amazing Batman (Spartan Play Arts Variant) last week, it is stunning, only I haven't come up with an idea to photograph yet.

Recently have been watching Fate\Stay Night and now mostly through Fate\Zero as well, I've quite enjoyed the series so some fanart will be popping up (and a Nendo photoshoot).
The twitter module is now auto-opening images again so latest previews and what not will be randomly displayed when I update that stream.
I've also cleaned up my galleries again, performed by semi-annual cull and updated the icons and what not for the hell of it

1. He was raised by his mother, never knowing who his father was.
2. Hair colour is very pale blonde, though he often dyes it pink for the fun of it.

Noblesse is great, I've been slowly getting through it, I think I've past half way. I love all the additional characters (especially their designs). Would be fun to do fanart of them

I heard the news that Card Captor Sakura is getting some new chapters, kinda wondering where they are going to go with that...

Manhwas. I've been getting into some manhwa's lately, I prefer the vertical ones the most. 19 Days is hilariously stupid, Raising a Bat is adorable and Noblesse is hilarious. I recommend all three of them (though Raising a Bat is a BL).
I'm also quite addicted to Showa Genroku Rakugo Shinju series (and Erased it has a Parasyte level of intensity, give it a go if you liked that one).

My Subaru Week (X-Dragons-KFSS) failed, so I need to rethink how I want to do it (combo of bad paper and bad colouring choices). My second one turned out a lot better (even if it was a completely different concept ).

Got some new figures yesterday and some more on the way Obi Wan, Hestia Nendo and Sakura school uniform figma.

Saw both Deadpool :bademoticon: and Zoolander 2 this weekend and enjoyed both of them. All is all.
Also have finished a series on a seiyu's set of characters cause I felt like it and have to do something for the upcoming Subaru Week X-Dragons-KFSS

I ended up having to go interstate suddenly so everything has piled up Bought some new scrapbooking papers that I can use as backgrounds and foregrounds to my photoshoots, I hope it works out!
Now to catch up on the anime I missed last week and whistle the X-Files tune continually

31st january 2016 - mixed media pencils and copics

Been experimenting with adding pencils to my Copic works a lot more to add some depth, it's been turning out rather fun. Some things I've discovered (mainly on moleskine paper so other papers may not have the same effects!):
Pencils after Copics, as the pencils leave a layer on top of the paper instead of soaking into it and can block the Copic as a result or give splotchy Copic coverage
Too much pencil leaves a very distinct pencil texture that may or may not be desirable
Pencils are good for areas (especially on a soaking paper) that the marker isn't giving enough definition to
Can add fine details to items as can sharpen the pencil to a finer point
It's fun to mix the mediums

Sorry for the long gap with Action Figure photography who follow that, I have a backlog and need to get through the figures since more are coming , but since the house is painted and backroom mostly set up I now have the time and space again . Here's a sample of the next one coming up:
